Xmas Cheer

Went out looking for a Christmas tree but we couldn’t find one that’s  right
Then we came back home and tried  to hang out the Christmas lights
By the time it was all over, we were shouting and we had a big fight
Oh I can’t wait for my Christmas cheer to end

The lights won’t light, the car won’t start, we gotta go out and shop
The weather's horrific, the traffic’s terrific, my spirits are starting to drop
I had two drinks, there’s a R.I.D.E. check ahead, what do I say to the cop
Oh I can’t wait for my Christmas cheer to end

I don’t mean to be a Scrooge, but let me make it clear
You go ahead and get your hopes all up, it’s gonna work out fine this year
Then before you know it, things are going all wrong again
Oh I can’t wait for my Christmas cheer to end

We went to the office party, and I got feeling fine
According to some certain sources, I had me a real good time
Now I hurt in so many places, I think that I’ll lose my mind
Oh I can’t wait for my Christmas cheer to end

Woke up Christmas morning and everybody had the flu
The family was already on their way, what are we supposed to do
By the time they left at the end of that day, they all had it too
Oh I can’t wait for my Christmas cheer to end

I don’t mean to be a Scrooge, but let me set you straight
Christmas has done it’s best to be a season that I hate
Joy to the world,  put the damn reindeer, back on the roof again
Oh I can’t wait for my Christmas cheer to end

We got some Christmas letters, and every one’s doing swell
Everybody’s got a perfect life, as near as I can tell
How come it seems like yours and mine is all going to hell
Oh I can’t wait for my Christmas cheer to end

Thank God it’s finally over, ‘cause I sure had my fill
Of antacids, antihistamines, and good old headache pills
Next thing to look forward to is a whole bunch of Christmas bills
Oh I can’t wait for my Christmas cheer
I can't wait for another year
Oh I can't wait for my Christmas cheer to end
