Ghost town

Late in the year and the cold wind blows
Where are we going, now nobody knows
Walk down the streets, you can’t hear a sound
Everybody’s sinking in the cold, cold ground
I've been looking but I can’t find a soul around
In this ghost town

They took it all away and they clawed it all back
Weeded out the weeds and they trimmed all the fat
Walk down the streets and you can’t hear a sound
Everybody’s buried in the cold, cold ground
I've been looking but I can’t find a soul around
In this ghost town

Night falls, the sun’s going, way down
I’m living, here, in a ghost town

Remember Joe, he used to live down the street
Last time I heard, he couldn’t stand on his feet
Walk down the streets, you can’t hear a sound
Everybody’s buried in the cold, cold ground
I've been looking but I can’t find a soul around
In this ghost town

Once upon a time he used to work with me
They disappeared him just like one, two, and three
Walk down the streets, you can’t hear a sound
Everybody’s buried in the cold, cold ground
I've been looking but I can’t find a soul around
In this ghost town
