Christmas Card From The Other Side

Hello, how are you, I hope you’re all right

I guess that you’re home with the family tonight

Give them my wishes ‘cause I wish them well

Wish I was there ---- what the hell

Sometimes I think I should get on a bus

Try to find something that’s still left of us

But deep down, I know  that , that never will be

There’s nothing in the straight life for me

Here’s a Christmas card from the other side

The streetlights glitter like candles tonight

And the turkey was dry but the soup was alright

Now the wind’s beginning to bite

Gotta find a warm place for the night

Life on the street sure can get awful strange

You do what you got to, to pick up some change

Watch all the faces, they all pass you by

They don’t ever look in your eyes

I still got some friends, and we’re here all together

Thinking of lives that we’ve all left for forever

We’ll buy something good and get high to forget

Think too much, my cheeks will get wet

Here’s a Christmas card from the other side

The streetlights glitter like candles tonight

And the turkey was dry but the soup was alright

Now the wind’s beginning to bite

Gotta find a warm place for the night

Here at the hall we all sang some songs

They said we’d be saved if we didn’t do wrong

Well I only came, cause the food is okay

I guess that’s all I got to say

Here’s my Christmas card from the other side

Wish it was different but I’ll be all right

Squint my eyes and I still see your face in the lights

Something in my chest grows tight

Merry Christmas, I love you, goodnight
